Traditionally, fire halls across the country host an Open House during Fire Prevention Week, held annually in the first week of October. However, HFD focuses its Fire Prevention Week efforts on outreach in schools and daycares, as well as through social media.
In the month of September, HFD hosts an annual Open House to welcome the community into our home away from home! We want to welcome the community into our station, share what we do, and connect with the people we serve.
As a rural department, it’s especially important to get to know the people who respond when help is needed because our First Responders are often friends, family, and fellow community members.
Enjoy an afternoon filled with: hotdogs (free!), scavenger hunts, child seat checks, truck tours, vitals check, and more!
