The members of HFD aren’t just Firefighters or Medical First Responders (MFRs) - they’re family.
As a paid-on-call rural fire department, we’re always ready to drop what we’re doing, day or night, to respond when duty calls. Whether it’s a fire or a medical emergency, we come running from our homes, jobs, and everyday lives to help. We don’t sit in a station waiting; we serve because this is our community, and these are our neighbours.
At HFD, we’re more than a department - we’re a team, a family, and a lifeline when seconds matter. We are neighbours helping neighbours, bound by a commitment to service, teamwork, and looking out for one another, both on and off the fire ground. When a call comes in, we answer - not just as firefighters or EMR's, but as a tight-knit crew that always has each other’s backs.
The Headingley Fire Department is a suburban Fire Department in Manitoba boarding Winnipeg to the West. We are a paid-on-call department responding to all fire, rescue and priority medical emergencies in the community.
We are made up of 36 members who operate as Firefighters, Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), Fire-EMR's, or Officers. We are currently made up of 18 Firefighters, 13 dual trained Firefighter/EMR's and 5 EMR's.
