By community members, for community members. HFD is proudly providing protective services for life, property and environment for The RM of Headingley, MB.
HFD Members are community members who are committed to be there when you need us. HFD is a "paid-on-call" service where members are always on call. They live in, or work in, our community and respond via pager/app notification when needed.
Working for HFD is not our primary employment - members have committed to serve their community by training, preparing and responding as needed for their community when ever we are needed.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Fire Chief John Sparham on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
Our department is grieving the loss of a respected leader, mentor, and friend who dedicated himself to serving our community through both our volunteer fire department and the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service.
We extend our deepest condolences to Chief Sparham’s family, friends, crews, and colleagues during this difficult time. We ask that you keep them, and our department members, in your thoughts as we mourn this tremendous loss.
Chief Sparham's service and dedication will not be forgotten.
Information regarding memorial and funeral arrangements will be shared as it becomes available and with the family's consent.
On Wednesday, June 3 at 1300hrs, the brothers and sisters of the Headingley Fire Department stood shoulder to shoulder as the flags were lowered to half-mast in honour of Chief John Sparham.
We will carry your memory with us on every call and every time we answer a page. Rest easy, Chief. We'll take it from here.
